KHDANCE requirements vary according to the dance discipline.
Please speak to
us before you purchase your dancewear.
Buy shoes with some room for growth. Dancers new to pointe work must not buy
shoes in advance of the start of term. Soft shoes must
not be stretch canvas! Sansha canvas preferred. Bloch
leather preferred. Bloch Character shoes. Character and Jazz shoes must be non
marking. Marking shoes will not be permitted in the
studios. Tutus should be ordered in November.
Ballet Please
note that there will be changes to the Junior uniform in
2017
Mini Dance, Dance Readiness, Pre Primary, Primary Ballet– Pink regulation short sleeve body suit and
pink skirt, pink tights and ballet
slippers (Bloch or Sansha please).
Grades 1-2
Ballet -
Pink sleeveless pinch front regulation body suit, pink
convertible tights and
ballet
slippers, black low heeled non marking Bloch character shoes (black or
neutral sole)and
character skirt. with ribbon. Pink elastic waistband.,
Grades 3
-5 Purple/periwinkle Ainslee square neck or
spaghetti strap (#102 or 101 styles), pink
convertible tights and
Sansha canvas
ballet
slippers, black moderate heeled non marking
Bloch
character shoes for grades 3 and 5 only, (black or neutral sole) and character
skirt with school colours on the 3 ribbons preferred.
Grade 4 students do not require Character shoes.
Grades 6-8 – Black spaghetti strap leotard. For exam
- selected colour body suit and ¾ length chiffon skirt . Pink
ballet slippers, canvas or leather non marking
character shoes and
character skirt. Silk scarf required to be ordered
from the Royal Academy of Dance Canada through the
studio
Intermediate Foundation
– A Black and a white square neck or spaghetti strap leotard, pink convertible tights, sansha canvas ballet shoes with ribbons for exams,
full sole pointe shoes,
white Sansha tutu.(9 layer)
Intermediate to Advanced
Ballet

convertible tights, soft full sole pointe shoes, full
sole pointe shoes,
white Sansha tutu.
Ballet Assistants: Wrap skirt
co-ordinating with body suit colour
Boys - White T-shirts, Black shorts,
black non marking dance shoes and socks
Modern/Contemporary
– Black body suit and
both
pink and black footless
tights, metatarsal socks
Jazz/Lyrical/Tap – Black sleeveless bodysuit,
black dance
shorts, both pink and black tights convertible, non marking black jazz or tap shoes (laced or slip on)
